Downtown Halifax Taxi to Halifax Airport ONTIMETAXI
Book a private taxi between downtown Halifax and Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). On Time Flight Taxi Service arranges hotel, apartment and business-address pickups. If your hotel has a separate vehicle entrance or valet area, tell dispatch which door you’ll use so the driver can meet you with your luggage.
Halifax Airport to downtown Halifax taxi fare
This one-way estimate uses our published Halifax peninsula/downtown zone reference. For a departure to YHZ, request a separate quote using your pickup address and flight time.
Halifax Airport (YHZ) → Downtown Halifax zone
Estimates are per car and include tax. Add a $10 airport gate fee for YHZ pickups and a 5% fee when paying through our secure Square link. Gratuity is separate. Dispatch confirms eligibility, agreed extras and the complete total before payment.
The distance and time are general zone references, not measurements to every hotel. Traffic, street access and your exact address can affect the journey. Compare published Halifax airport arrival rates.
Pickup areas within about 15 km of downtown Halifax
Nearby coverage includes Halifax neighbourhoods and surrounding communities within an approximate 15 km straight-line radius. Road routes around the harbour can be longer. Each address receives its own quote; the downtown estimate does not automatically apply across this entire area.
- Downtown and the waterfront: Name the hotel, office or accommodation and confirm a vehicle-accessible entrance.
- South End, North End and West End: For an apartment or campus-area pickup, include the building number and meeting door.
- Armdale and Fairview: Provide the actual civic address and any driveway instructions.
- Clayton Park and Rockingham: Identify the building or property entrance, especially at larger residential complexes.
- Downtown Dartmouth and Woodside: Tell dispatch which side of the harbour you’ll be on. Ferry journeys and road transfers require different meeting arrangements.
For address comparisons, review the Dartmouth airport rate references and Halifax airport rate references.
Reserve your downtown airport ride
- Send your trip details. Include both addresses, travel date, pickup or flight time, flight number, passenger count and luggage.
- Describe the meeting point. For a hotel, name the vehicle entrance. For a waterfront meeting, agree on a nearby road-accessible location with dispatch.
- Confirm and prepay. Book at least two hours ahead for local trips and six hours ahead for long-distance trips. Dispatch confirms availability, the total and payment instructions.
Mention child seats, pets, oversized bags or an extra stop when requesting the ride. Submitting a request does not automatically confirm a reservation. Review the cancellation policy before paying.

Downtown Halifax airport taxi questions
Can I book an early pickup from a downtown hotel?
Yes, subject to availability. Give your hotel name, flight departure time and preferred pickup entrance. Dispatch confirms the meeting time and fare.
Does the zone estimate apply to every downtown address?
It is a general reference, not a final quote for every property. Send your exact address and trip details so dispatch can confirm the applicable total.
Can the driver meet me on the waterfront?
Agree on a specific vehicle-accessible meeting point with dispatch. Provide a nearby civic address or business entrance rather than a general boardwalk location.
Can I arrange a return ride from YHZ?
Yes. Submit a separate request for the return leg with its date, incoming flight number and destination. Dispatch confirms each journey and its pickup instructions.
